TIMPANOGOS SPECIAL SERVICE DISTRICT - DIGESTER COMPLEX

Alder Construction is currently performing major upgrades to the Timpanogos Special Service District’s biosolids processing facilities as part of the Master Plan Phase 1 Capital Improvements Program (Package A).
This project focuses on expanding and modernizing the District’s anaerobic digestion infrastructure to improve solids handling, increase operational efficiency, and support long-term plant capacity. Work includes extensive structural, mechanical, and process upgrades within an active wastewater treatment environment, requiring careful coordination to maintain continuous plant operations.
Key components of the work include:
-
Construction and modification of reinforced concrete process structures designed for severe wastewater exposure conditions
-
Installation of process piping systems, valves, and appurtenances for sludge conveyance and treatment
-
Integration of pumps, mixers, and biosolids processing equipment to support digestion operations
-
Implementation of odor control, process control, and instrumentation systems
-
Structural steel platforms, access systems, and maintenance infrastructure
-
Sitework including excavation, shoring, deep foundations, and underground utilities
The project is being constructed under strict sequencing and maintenance-of-operations requirements to ensure uninterrupted treatment service to the surrounding communities.
These improvements will position the facility for future phases of the District’s long-term capital plan, including enhanced digestion performance and potential energy recovery initiatives.
